Dreams FC will host Legon Cities in the Quarter final of the 2022/23 MTN FA Cup at the Theatre of Dreams, Dawu on Friday. The Still Believe lads go into the game in search of their second successive semifinal berth following a 3-2 loss to eventual winners Accra Hearts of Oak in the semifinal of last seasons’ Competition.

Dreams FC made it to this stage after beating Liberty Professionals 3-0 whiles Legon Cities beat Volta Rangers 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Gael Ahorlu, Ali Huzaif and a Prince Boateng Junior own goal were enough to give Dreams FC a smooth passage into the quarter final as they looked absolutely marvelous in the larger part of the game at Dawu.

Both teams are having an uninspiring season in the betPawa Premier League but have been brilliant in the Cup competition. Three points separate the two sides in the Premier League log as Dreams FC lie in 13th place with 31 points – three points ahead of Legon Cities who are 17th with nine games to end the season.

Dreams FC have scored six goals and won two of their matches on the road – a record that makes them more potent than Legon Cities who are riding on the back of one away win and two home wins with two of their victories coming from spot kicks.

Two Ghana legends Abdul Karim Zito and Maxwell Konadu will square off in this massive encounter at the Theatre of Dreams with a place in the semifinal up for grabs.

Dreams FC started the competition with a 2-1 win over Division One side Asekem FC, shocked Hearts of Oak 1-0 in Accra in the Round of 32 before dispatching Liberty Professionals 3-0 at Dawu in the Round of 16.

For Legon Cities took off with a 1-0 win against Accra Lions at home, defeated Accra Great Olympics 4-3 on penalties before flying past Volta Rangers 4-0 in another shoot out after the game ended 1-1 in regulation time.

The 3pm kick off game will be broadcast live on StarTimes Adepa channel 247 on Friday, April 7, 2023 at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.
