Ghana international and Charlton Athletic striker, Chris Dickson has signed a one-year contract extension at the Valley.

Dickson joined the Addicks 18 months ago from Dulwich Hamlet and is slowly forcing his way into Alan Pardew's first-team plans.

Though he has yet to start a game for the Addicks, the 23-year-old has featured twice from the substitutes' bench this season.

He spent spells on loan at Crewe and Gillingham last term and is currently on international duty with Ghana as he looks to win his first cap.

The pacey forward is now tied to Charlton until 2010 and is delighted to have been rewarded with a new deal by Pardew.

"It's turning out to be a good week for me," Dickson told the club's official website.

"Negotiations had been ongoing for a while now, but I'm glad we have all come to an agreement which keeps me at the club for an extra year.

"The gaffer has clearly shown faith in me by offering me a new deal and now is the time for me to start repaying him, the club, and most importantly, the fans, who have continued to support me."
