Jeffrey Schlupp does not need to apply for nationality switch to pave the way for him to make his international bow with Ghana, the German Football Association - DFB - has confirmed.

The 18-year old Leicester City striker on Monday was handed his debut invitation into the Ghana senior side, the Black Stars for the up-coming international friendlies against Sierra Leone and Gabon in Paris.

Unlike some arrangements where the GFA and the player had to complete nationality switch arrangements, the DFB says Schlupp has not featured for any German national side contrary to some press reports.
