The Premier League Board has fixed October 9 as the start date of the 2011/2012 Glo Premier League season.

This follows the Executive Committee of the GFA's decision to have domestic football competitions in the country start in October in order to synchronise the fixtures with the international calendar.

The previous league seasons in the country was running from August to May with fixtures routinely clashing with international dates on the FIFA calendar.

The new season would run from October-May.

According to the PLB, a one-month period, beginning 10 August - September 10, would be allowed for the 16 clubs in the league to register players for the new season.

Below is the programme released by the PLB for the first window of registration of players:

Registration: 10th August – 10th September

Publication: 11th September – 17th September

Verification: 18th September – 26th September

Fixtures of the new league campaign are yet to be released.
