Date announced for referees test

Some 400 qualified match referees and their assistants vying for selection for the 2007/2008 Premier and Division One football season would be undergoing physical fitness tests next week for selection ahead of the coming football season.

The tests under the supervision of the Referees Association of Ghana would seek to select 35 Referees and 60 Assistant Referees for the Premier League while 80 Referees and 120 Assistant Referees will be selected for the Division One League.

All participants will undergo medical examination before the tests.

Qualified persons are to take note:

- Saturday 4th August 2007, for recommended Premier League Referees and Assistant Referees from the Gt. Accra, Volta, Eastern and Central regions. The venue is the football park of the University of Ghana, Legon. The reporting time is Friday, 3rd August 2007 at 4.00 pm. For administrative instructions.

- Those recommended from the above named regions for the DOL list are to report at 4.00 pm. on Saturday, 4th August to go through the test on Sunday, 5th August, 2007.

- Referees recommended for the Premier League list from the Upper West, Upper East, Northern, Brong Ahafo and Ashanti are regions are to report at 4.00 pm. prompt of Friday, 17th August 2007 at the Sunyani Secondary School, Sunyani, for administrative instructions. The test will start at 5.30 am. prompt the following day Saturday, 18th August, 2007.

- Those recommended for the DOL list are to report at 4.00 pm. on Saturday 18th August, 2007 for administrative instructions. The test will follow at 5.30 am. on Sunday, 19th August, 2007 at the Sunyani Secondary School.
