Two clubs - AshantiGold and Tema Youth would be seeking for success in their continental club competitions this weekend when the competitions enter the second round.

AshantiGold continue their pursuit for honours in the CAF/MTN Champions League competition this weekend when they take on Moroccan side, Royal Armed Forces at the Len Clay stadium.

RAF Rabat, one of the six sides given a bye to the second round start off their campaign against the Miners in the competition on Sunday.

The Miners who are painfully coming from a domestic league defeat in midweek are hopeful of continuing with their impressive start to the competition which saw them edge out Equatorial Guinean side, Renacimento with wins over the two-leg tie.

With a host of players making their continental club debut this season for AshantiGold, coach David Duncan another debutant to the competition would plotting for win ahead of the return leg in Rabat.

According to AshantiGold’s Chief Executive Officer, Kudjoe Fianoo they are targeting a convincing win over the Moroccans.

"A decade is a long time enough for us to bring the smiles back on the faces of our supporters and the entire Obuasi township.

"We hope to record a convincing good win on Sunday to make the return encounter less burdensome for us," he said.

In the Confederation Cup, Tema Youth who drew a bye in the first round of the competition would be away to Cameroonian side, Astres de Douala.

The premiership’s debutants who are making their maiden appearance in the continental competition would be looking for a good result in Douala.

An impressive start to the domestic league season coupled with a good form, Tema Youth stand a chance of making an impact on their debut.
