Congress set for the day's agenda

The Ghana Football Association's Extra-Ordinary Congress, one of the most-crucial organs of the governing body meets today to decide on key proposals ahead of the new football season.

The Congress which makes decisions relating to the FA's statutes and other programmes would deliberate on the proposed amendments of regulations and discuss other business.

Members would begin Wednesday's session at 9:00am at the FA’s conference room in pursuant to Article 23.3 of the GFA Statutes.

Among the issues to be looked at are:

- Article 7 – Football Season: The period of the football season

- Article 8 – Premier League: To support the increase of Premier clubs from sixteen (16) to twenty (20) clubs

- Introduction of the reserve premier league

- Article 29 - Unqualified player

- Article 34 - Forfeiture of Matches

- Proposed Amendments to General and Special Regulations for Division One League (DOL)

Congress will also consider the operational arrangements for the proposals on its agenda.

In the spirit of true democracy, each decision is put to a vote as all accredited members are entitled to participate in the voting process over the passing into law a proposal or its rejection.
