The nationwide talent identification programme for Ghana's U-17 national team will continue in the Western and Western North regions as coach Kasim Ocansey Mingle and his technical team search for the next generation of Black Starlets players.
The two-phase scouting exercise will begin on June 29, 2026, at Mampiobo Park in Juaboso in the Western North Region before moving to Kobby's Park in Takoradi on July 1, 2026. Activities at both venues will commence at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at 5:00 p.m.
The exercise forms part of the Ghana Football Association's nationwide scouting initiative aimed at identifying talented young footballers for the next Black Starlets cycle. The programme is expected to attract promising players from clubs, colts teams and football academies across the Western and Western North regions.
Coach Mingle and his technical team will observe a series of matches and assessment games as they evaluate players on their technical quality, tactical awareness, physical attributes and overall potential. The scouting exercise is specifically targeted at talented boys born in 2010 and 2011 who aspire to represent Ghana at the youth international level.
Players who distinguish themselves during the regional screening exercise will earn places in the next phase of the selection process at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. There, the shortlisted players will undergo further assessment before the technical team finalizes its plans for the next Black Starlets squad.
The Western and Western North regional exercises follow successful scouting programmes in the Upper West, Upper East, Northern, Brong Ahafo and Ashanti regions. The nationwide talent hunt underscores the Ghana Football Association's commitment to ensuring that gifted young footballers from all parts of the country are given an opportunity to showcase their abilities and pursue their dreams of national team football.
