The nationwide talent identification programme for the Black Starlets will continue in the Eastern Region on July 4, 2026, as coach Kassim Ocansey Mingle and his technical team intensify efforts to discover the country's brightest young football talents.
The scouting exercise will take place at the Koforidua Sports Stadium and is scheduled to commence at 9:00 a.m. Talented young footballers from across the region are expected to gather at the venue to showcase their abilities and compete for an opportunity to progress in the Black Starlets selection process.
The exercise forms part of the Association's nationwide scouting initiative aimed at identifying players for the next Black Starlets cycle. Coach Mingle and his technical team will observe a series of matches and assessment games while evaluating players on their technical quality, tactical awareness, physical attributes and overall football intelligence.
The programme is specifically targeted at boys born in 2010 and 2011. Eligible players will have the opportunity to demonstrate their talents before the national team selectors as they seek to earn a place in the next stage of the screening process.
Outstanding performers from the Eastern Regional exercise will be shortlisted for further assessment at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. The final screening phase will provide the technical team with an opportunity to closely evaluate the selected players before naming the next Black Starlets squad.
The Eastern Region scouting programme is part of a nationwide exercise that has been rolled out across the country to ensure that talented young footballers are identified regardless of their location.
