It's the first game of 2010 and all sixteen premiership sides on their quest for glory this weekend will go into action on match-day-13 in the Glo Premier League.

The season is almost reaching the halfway stage as the competition gets keener match after match.

Before the start of the league, the big clubs were much-fancied to have been hopping the summit by time of the season, but their placings rather tell a different story though they are enough games still to come to turn around their season.

With a New Year having come, their fortunes might change but there are a number of brave minnows hoping to stand in their way.

Hearts of Oak knows Sunday's clash with Berekum Arsenals at the Ohene Djan Stadium is the perfect opportunity to reignite their campaign for the New Year.

The Phobians, lying eighth, five points off the leaders are just three points behind the Gunners who are in second place ahead of their match.

Chelsea and Asante Kotoko provide another fixture between two sides that are level on points but below mid-table and know how significant a win to either side will shape their campaign.

The Porcupine Warriors who travel to the Coronation Park as guest of Chelsea ended their successive five-game winless run before the turn of the year and will be hoping to continue from there.

Kotoko have been poor all season and aware of the pressures that will come with a defeat in Sunyani.

Kessben FC, who sit at the summit of the standings find themselves lodged in a top three battle when they travel to the Wa Park to face All Stars.

Heart of Lions have struggled to match their off-season form in the league and they will be home to Real Tamale United at the Kpando Park.

Great Olympics will be on the road to Dormaa where they clash with Aduana Stars with Eleven Wise visiting the Len Clay Stadium to play New Edubiase.

Hasaacas, second from bottom take on AshantiGold at the Sekondi Stadium while Liberty Professionals still without a win since Sellas Tetteh took over after the start of the season hope to pull their first victory when they meet bottom placed King Faisal at the Baba Yara Stadium.
