Champions Berekum Chelsea will kick off their title defence of the Glo Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium against Mighty Jets.

The match on October 9 is one of the opening day fixtures released by the Premier League Board for the 2011/12 football season.

A tough opening day is expected as Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, who share between them 41 titles, both travel away.

Asante Kotoko, would be away to promoted, Tema Youth while Hearts travel to the Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast to face Berekum Arsenals, who are serving a three-match home ban from last season.

Debutants Bechem United will welcome New Edubiase to the Baba Yara Stadium while Heart of Lions take on Wassaman United at the Kpando Park for their premiership bow.

The traditional rivalry that sets the premiership alight, the clash between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak has been fixed for match-day-7 on November 20, 2011 when the Phobians host the Porcupine Warriors at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The first round of the league campaign would be brought to an end on January 15, 2012 when the match-day-15 round of games are played.
