Ghana midfielder, Michael Essien is in line for a Long term deal that could see him end his playing career with English champions, Chelsea.

The Black Stars player tagged as one of the “untouchables” in Jose Mourinho’s set up together with the English pair of captain, John Terry and Frank Lampard could be spending the rest of their careers at the at Stamford Bridge if the they agree to the new contracts.

"These deals have been spoken about for some time and negotiations are in very advanced positions," Blues chief executive Peter Kenyon told the News of the World.

"It's true to say we are progressing very well on that and we are very close to finalising everything."

"I would say we are ahead of the game on these and there is also Michael Essien who comes into that," Kenyon said.

Essien, has been in imperious form this season for Chelsea having played in all games and also he’s been moved around the pitch in different positions as the Blues continue to struggle in finding appropriate cover att he right-back and central defence.
