Chelsea face high flying Bechem United at Golden City Park Friday

Bechem United treks to Berekum to take on Chelsea on Match Day 17 of the Ghana Premier League at the Golden City Park on Friday.

The Hunters who are unbeaten in their last eight matches - winning four and drawing four including a goalless draw against Hearts of Oak in Accra, sit in second place with 29 points – four points behind leaders Asante Kotoko and three points ahead of third placed King Faisal who are on 26 points.

Augustine Okrah scored last weekend to take his goal tally 8 goals in 16 matches and jointly shares the top spot of the leading scorers chart with Asante Kotoko’s Franck Etouga.

The former Al Hilal player who returned to Bechem United in the summer after a two year spell with Asante Kotoko is proving himself at the club combining experience, goals and hard work with his work rate being complimented by the youngsters Clinton Duodu (16), Emmanuel Annor (18), Aaron Essel (16) and Clement Tutu (19).

Berekum Chelsea on Monday, shattered the dreams of Dreams FC at the theatre of Dreams at Dawu where they beat the Still Believe lads 1-0 to register their first away win the season.

Berekum Chelsea have lost once this season – a 1-0 defeat to Real Tamale United but could be spared on by the victory against Dreams FC, AshantiGold, WAFA and King Faisal and Accra Lions not forgetting the stalemates against Eleven Wonders and Great Olympics at home.

Berekum Chelsea are 9th in the League table with 21 points – eight points behind their visitors and a win could lift them from their current position into the Top Four.

While Bechem United will aim for their first win at the Golden City Park, Chelsea would strive to continue their superb home run.

The match is scheduled for 3pm kick off kick and shown live on StarTimes Adepa Channel 247.
