Chelsea ended their poor run in the league, winning the Berekum derby 3-1 against Arsenal at the Golden City Park on Wednesday.

The champions had gone on a winless run of five consecutive games but sounded their intent early on when Emmanuel Clottey after three minutes put them in front.

Two minutes after the opener, Chelsea doubled the score through Edward Kpodo and held onto their lead before the break.

Chelsea returned recess stronger as they had to wait until the 88th minute before Ibrahim Issaka made it 3-0.

Stephen Amankwah got Arsenal a consolation two minutes from time when he scored from a penalty.

The result lifts the champions to third on the standings.
