Cardio issues on agenda at GFA sports medicine workshop

The Ghana Football Association has joined forces with the NSA Medical Directorate to hold training for club medics and paramedics which will improve their roles in medical care for players.

On 4 April 2012, the a day's seminar at the Conference Hall of the GFA for all clubs will do a study into the following topics:

- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid in sports - On-pitch and immediate management of the injured player. - Rehabilitation and return to sport/play - Injury prevention

According to organisers, the target audience/participants are:

- all club/team physicians, physiotherapists and masseurs (premier clubs, divisions 1 and 2, soccer academies) - medics and paramedics attached to various sports associations including security agencies - all first responders at the various stadia and soccer pitches dotted all over the country - all interested persons

All prospective participants are encouraged to register with either Francis at the GFA or Dr Pambo at the Accra Sports Stadium.
