The 18 clubs competing in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League are being led by a mix of experienced players and younger talents who have taken on the responsibility of captaining their respective sides.
Among them is 17-year-old left-back Alidu Labaran Majeed, who is the youngest captain in the league and leads Vision FC. Ramzy Abubakar is also entrusted with the captaincy at Young Apostles.
At Hearts of Oak, goalkeeper Benjamin Asare wears the captain's armband. Asare brings significant experience to the role and recently represented the Black Stars at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. At Bechem United, former Ghana Premier League top scorer Augustine Okrah provides leadership and experience as captain.
Lord Amoah has been appointed captain of Asante Kotoko for the new season, while centre-back Gideon Anaba leads Gold Stars. At Karela United, experienced right-back Fatawu Mohammed continues in a leadership role, while centre-back Alex Boakye captains Aduana FC. Ishmael Addo takes on the captaincy at Heart of Lions, while experienced midfielder Justice Blay returns to the Ghana Premier League as captain of newly promoted FC AshantiGold.
Among the other newly promoted clubs, Bariu Sule leads Debibi United, while Hamza Zakari has been named captain of Port City. Kwaku Asuandzi captains Swedru All Blacks, while Emmanuel Adu Siaw leads FC Samartex.
The captains of the 18 clubs bring together a combination of youth, experience and leadership, with some of Ghana's established league players joined by younger talents taking on major leadership responsibilities as the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season gets underway.
