Having managed to set up another meet with Ghana and this time with the African Youth Championship trophy to play for, Cameroonian coach, Alain Wabo has vowed to deny the Black Satellites a third U-20 title.
Cameroon booked their place at the finals after edging out Nigeria 2-0 in the second semi-final game coming just after Ghana had earlier secured their place, finishing off South Africa in the seven-goal thriller which ended 4-3.
“People should go and tell Ghana that they will have a very rough evening on Sunday. They have nowhere to escape to. They will have a bad outing that they will never forget,” the Cameroonian coach said after his side beat Nigeria.
With Ghana standing in their way to the title, Wabo vows to win the African Youth Championship trophy but only “after teaching Ghana some lessons, because I know how they play and I have studied all their video tapes.”
Despite his tough talk ahead of Sunday’s finals, the Cameroonian admits that Ghana would be a difficult side to play against.
“They (Ghana) play like Nigeria and we know how to deal with those tactics.”
“Ghana will be a bigger problem than Nigeria,” he added.
Sunday’s final would be the second time both sides are meeting in the competition after playing each other in their opening group A match which ended 1-1.
The Black Satellites, two-time winners in 1993 and 1999, who last made it to the finals of the competition in 2001 are seeking a third trophy.
