Cabinet team promise Stars of support

Players and backroom staff members of the Black Stars were given a treat as some members of Ghana’s cabinet, ministers and members of parliament served them during lunch time at the team’s hotel today.

The government delegation with the backing of parliament after dishing out food onto the plates of Ghana’s title hopefuls sat around with the team to eat together.

Sport minister, Prof. Dominic Fobih, who led the team from both the executive and legislature, the gathering was just to show the team their token appreciation for their efforts at the on-going African Cup of Nations.

“We had lunch with the players and technical team. This was to remind them of our unlimited support.

“We served them as token of appreciation for their great performance at the tournament which has seen them reach the semi-finals.

“All of us had talks with them and also advised. We are so grateful for what they’ve have achieved and know that they will make it possible for Ghana,” Prof. Dominic Fobih told the media after having completed discussions with the team.

According to the sports minister their interaction with the team gives them hope for the coming match.

“They are very sure of securing success and are more determined even without captain, John Mensah (suspended for Thursday’s game).

“They can make it in a courageous way. And there is a good incentive for them. The President also has a package for them,” the minister said.

Black Stars captain, John Mensah together with Michael Essien thanked the team for their visit, promising to maintain focus and fight for a win on Thursday.

Present at the meeting was FA President, Kwesi Nyantakyi and Vice President, Fred Pappoe.

The visiting delegation included Hajia Alima Mahama, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Kan Dapaah, Akwasi Osei-Adjei, Papa Owusu-Ankomah, Elizabeth Ohene, O.B. Amoah and Sampson Boafo.

The delegation was later joined by Yaw Osafo Maafo and Joe Ghartey.
