Different sets of brothers will unite to channel their childhood rivalries into one dream of helping their nations lift the World Cup in Brazil.

When the competition starts this week, there will be five sets of siblings on hand as they take their childhood dreams to international level.

However, for the unique Boateng brothers, Kevin-Prince and Jerome, their rivalry will see them on opposite divide, stoking their rivalry even deeper.

Kevin-Prince will star for Ghana's Black Stars while Jerome will turn up for Germany.

The Boatengs were born to a Ghanaian father but raised by separate mothers in Berlin. Though spending much time together during childhood, each chose to represent a different nation. The pair maintain a very good relationship.

Incidentally, the two teams are housed in the same group yet again, just like it happened in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. And they will meet in the group stage on June 21.

Apart from the Boatengs, there are four sets of brothers playing in the World Cup.

Ghana have the Ayews in their camp. Andre and Jordan, sons of former Black Stars captain Abedi Ayew Pele continue the rich family history. In the last World Cup, their older brother Rahim made the team but failed to make it this time round.

From Honduras are the Palacios pair, Wilson and Jerry.

Russia have the Berezutski twins, Alexei and Vasili in their squad. Both defenders, they have stuck with each other all throughout their 31 years. They both play for the same club, CSKA Moscow. The Berezutskis will celebrate their birthdays on June 20 during the World Cup.

And finally, the Toure brothers from Ivory Coast. Yaya and Kolo will be on hand to push the Elephant dream.
