Asante Kotoko have been left reeling under pressure after Hearts of Oak defeated them 1-0 in the MTN Top 4 competition.

And the architect of the Phobians' win was Bernard Dong Bortey who curled a great freekick from more than 20 yards out into the upright of goalkeeper Isaac Amoako.

Both sides lost their opening matches but the Phobians seem to have overcome their first day setback as they set their sight on glory.

The rivalry between both sides was enough motivation ahead of the game and Hearts appeared really composed on the day as indecisiveness on the part of Kotoko's attack cost them a point on the day.

The Porcupine Warriors have thus recorded their second defeat in the competition as the Phobians now stay a point off the leaders with the win at the Baba Yara Stadium.

In the other game at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra, Heart of Lions and King Faisal shared the spoils in their 1-1 drawn fixture.

Kweku Andoh put Lions in the lead but Clement Coffie was on hand to draw his side level.
