The inclusion of Kevin-Prince Boateng in Ghana's squad raised expectations with many yearning to see the former German youth player make his debut.

Though the hopes of many were dashed after a much expected maiden Black Stars outing for the 23 year-old midfielder was delayed during Ghana's against Holland last Tuesday, Boateng is now confident of playing his first game.

He is now in line for a place in the Ghana team when the Black Stars play Latvia in London Saturday to wrap up their build up before flying to South Africa for the World Cup finals.

Boateng, who has been handed the number 23 shirt, told KickOffGhana.com that he is eagerly looking forward to it after he was consigned to the bench against the Dutch so he could get to understand the team better.

"Ghanaian fans can expect that I would be on the field and that I would give a 100 per cent for the team and the whole country and I am looking forward to it," he said.

“It was good for me to see how the team acts against Holland and how the coach wants the team to play. It was important for me to see how the team plays and learn from it. I hope I can show the coach on Saturday what I can do and prove that I can fit into the style of play that he wants.”
