Derek Boateng says Ghana's win over Swaziland on Friday in the qualifying for the 2012 African Cup of Nations is a real boost ahead of the final group game.

The Black Stars beat the Swazis 2-0 in front of a home crowd at the Accra Sports Stadium in Group I to open a three-point lead at the top ahead of second-placed Sudan, who are away to Congo on Sunday.

Boateng, who is anticipating a tough final group clash in Khartoum, next month, believes Ghana, finalist at the last Nations Cup have taken a giant leap ahead of the game.

“We are going there to win. We are winners and we always want to win and we are going there for a great game so we will win,” Boateng said.

And after putting in a great performance and lasting the full match, his first in many games for Ghana in recent times, the FC Dnipro player hopes his international performance will have a positive impact at club level.

“Yeah, it’s going to give me a lot of encouragement and confidence with my club and I can’t wait to play the next game for Ghana again,” he added.
