Dutch side Heracles Almelo have completed the signing of Ghana under-23 international Emmanuel Boakye.

The 22-year-old defender sealed a three-year-deal from rivals Ajax Amsterdam on Monday.

Boakye played on loan at Heracles last season, making 30 appearances.

"We are extremely happy that we could sign such a young and good defender for three years," Heracles Almelo director Nico Jan Hoogma said.

"The competition for him was fierce but we nevertheless managed to do it."

Boakye opted for Almelo despite offers from Feyenoord and AZ Alkmaar.
