Black Stars team for CHAN named

Herbert Addo has named his final 23 for next month’s African Nations Championship in Sudan.

The coach of the home-based Black Stars side on Monday announced the squad which includes New Edubiase United striker Stephen Manu.

Manu, who has enjoyed a good run since moving to Edubiase is the only member from the team that picked silver at the maiden edition in Ivory Coast two years ago to make the squad.

The squad also includes Alfred Nelson, who is the only non-premier league player to be selected for the competition designed by CAF for only home-based players of its member countries.

Ghana would be making a second consecutive appearance at the tournament with the Black Stars paired in the Group B with South Africa, Zimbabwe and Niger in the 16-nation competition.

The CHAN tournament will be played from February 4-25.
