The Black Stars will on Thursday 11th June, 2015 visit the site where about 200 people lost their lives after last week’s fuel station explosion.

The delegation which will include GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi on behalf of the football Association, coach Avram Grant and Asamoah Gyan on behalf of the technical team and players, will pay respect to the lost lives and pray for the dead, injured and all victims of the unfortunate incident.

The senior national team began non residential camping last Thursday for their 2015 AFCON qualifier against Mauritius and the players were devastated to hear news of the tragic events that occurred the previous night.

Ahead of the qualifying match on Sunday, the team will present a cash donation to the Sports Minister at today's event which will be held at the site of the tragic incident at 1:30 pm to help government in its efforts of helping the families of the bereaved and those affected by the floods.

The Black Stars earlier observed a minute silence before kick-off to Monday’s friendly against Togo in honor of the lives that were lost during the flood and fire disaster last Wednesday night.

Coach Avram Grant and his team will begin their quest to qualify for the 2017 AFCON when they face their Mauritian counterparts at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
