Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has demanded of his players to show hunger in their bid to qualify for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Black Stars play Malawi in the reverse fixture of the final round qualifier on Sunday in Lilongwe with the winner on aggregate over two legs reaching next year's finals in South Africa.

Despite leading by a 2-0 advantage from the first leg, Appiah is calling on his selected Black Stars team to show they are ready to “become champions.”

"I admit we face a decisive fixture on Sunday and I expect of my team to be able to rise to the occasion," Appiah told www.ghanafa.org before departure.

"I've called up a team that I trust will be capable of qualifying us to the next Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa. We will have to be very serious with our preparations as our opponents still have a chance just like we do."

Ghana's team will train in the Kenyan capital until Friday when they leave for Lilongwe where the match will be played.

Appiah feels the Black Stars have everything to prove as they hope to pick their place in the competition and chase for the title.

"For the Ghanaian, qualifying is a must and we must deliver that and prove that we have a chance to become champions."

"I know that we are leading from the first leg but that result is nothing now. We are starting from scratch and every player must be prepared to fight for a win.

"For them, aside ensuring that Ghana qualifies, they are also playing for their places and that should spur them on to be at their best always."

Ghana are four-time African champions.
