Black Stars land Senegal, South Africa and Algeria in Afcon draw

Ghana will face opposition from Senegal, South Africa and Algeria in the group stage of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations next year.

The Black Stars, who were top seeds in the draw, are in Group C for the finals in Equatorial Guinea from 17 January to 8 February, following Wednesday’s event in Malabo.

Assistant Black Stars coach Maxwell Konadu was at the draw for the 16-team competition.

All the teams in Group C with the exception of Senegal are former winners of the continental showpiece.

Ghana's team will be based Mongomo with Bata, Ebibeyin and Malabo hosting the other group games.

The opening game will be Equatorial Guinea v Congo on 17 January.

Group A: Equatorial Guinea, Congo, Gabon, Burkina Faso

Group B: Zambia, DR Congo, Cape Verde, Tunisia

Group C: Ghana, Senegal, South Africa, Algeria

Group D: Ivory Coast, Guinea, Cameroon, Mali
