As Ghana gets ready to play its last game today to wrap up a busy year of football action, stand-in Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah hopes the team finishes on a winning note to cap a successful year.

Ghana plays Saudi Arabia in Dubai in one of the many friendly games on the calendar today.

Wednesday's friendlies is the last of the year as the World Cup year ends with lots of games between nations with Ghana's next competitive campaign set for March 2011 in the qualifying for the 2012 African Nations Cup.

Appiah has called up 19 players for the game against Saudi Arabia, a side which last beat Ghana 5-0 in a similar game back in 2007.

Pride and victory is on the minds of the Black Stars who will be determined to play much better than they last did.

It will be Appiah’s second match since taking charge of the team in a acting capacity and he hopes to get a good result.

"Though it's a friendly, we know we want to win. This is the last international game for the year and it would be good to finish with a win.

"The Saudi's are a good side and we have to play well to get a result," Appiah told www.ghanafa.org.

The Black Stars would have available an in-form Asamoah Gyan while Kevin Prince Boateng returns to the squad after missing Ghana's last game through injury.

Quincy Owusu-Abeyie also makes a return to the Black Stars squad since the end of the World Cup.
