Black Stars draw with SC Cambuur in second pre-AFCON friendly

The Black Stars drew 1-1 in their friendly match against SC Cambuur played on Thursday afternoon in Cartaya, Spain.

The Dutch Eredivisie side scored in the first half through forward Daniel Di Ridder before Olympique Marseille winger Andre equalized for Ghana with a fine header in the 60th minute.

Coach Avram Grant named a strong starting line-up for the match with captain Asamoah Gyan and Jordan Ayew leading the attack.

Daniel Amartey who is set to play his first African Cup of Nations tournament played in defence alongside, Jonathan Mensah and John Boye with Harrison Afful and Baba Rahman playing the right back and left back positions respectively.

Kwesi Appiah, Mubarak Wakaso,Frank Acheampong , Christian Atsu and David all came on as substitutions in the second half of the game as Ghana pushed hard to secure a win.

The match comes a day after the Black Stars defeated Portuguese side Olhanense 3-0 in their first preparatory friendly game.

Ghana will now play their last test game against Freiburg next week before the team departs for Equatorial Guinea ahead of their first match against Senegal on January 19 in Mongomo.
