The Black Starlets intensified preparations for their opening game at the 2026 WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship with a second training session in Ouagadougou on Thursday, October 8, 2026.

The team trained at the Terrain Carfo, stepping up their preparations ahead of their much-anticipated Group opener against Togo. The session followed the Starlets’ first training session at the Terrain USFA on Wednesday, a day after the team arrived in the Burkinabe capital.

The technical team used Thursday’s session to fine-tune the team as the players continue to adapt to the conditions in Ouagadougou. With the opening fixture fast approaching, attention has now shifted to putting the final pieces in place for the clash with Togo.

The Black Starlets will begin their campaign against Togo on Saturday, October 10, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00GMT. Ghana will be hoping to make a strong start to the competition as they seek to build on their recent success at the regional level.

The Starlets go into the tournament with valuable experience from last year’s WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship in Côte d’Ivoire, where they finished as runners-up. Their impressive campaign in Côte d’Ivoire also secured Ghana a place at the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Coach Kassim Ocansey and his boys will be determined to turn their experience from last year into a strong campaign in Ouagadougou, beginning with victory over Togo in their opening fixture.
