The Black Starlets, over the weekend, recorded an impressive double victory over FC Samartex 1996 in a two-game friendly series played as part of preparations for the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations. The matches were staged at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena, where the young lads displayed quality, discipline and attacking power.

In the opening game, the Starlets delivered a dominant performance, thrashing the Samartex junior side 6–0. Forward Aboagye Mark stole the spotlight with a brilliant hat-trick, demonstrating sharp finishing and intelligent movement in the final third. His goals set the tone for a one-sided encounter that underlined the team’s growing confidence.

Abraham added his name to the scoresheet with a well-taken goal, while Gavi Robinho and David Ofori also found the back of the net to complete the emphatic victory. The Starlets controlled possession throughout the match and consistently troubled their opponents with quick passing and relentless attacking runs.

The second fixture proved more competitive as the Starlets faced the senior side of Samartex. Both teams created chances in a tightly contested game, with the Ghanaian youngsters showing resilience and composure against the more experienced opposition.

Just when the match appeared to be heading for a draw, Gavi Robinho stepped up with a late decisive strike to hand the Black Starlets a 1–0 victory. The win capped a successful two-game series and provided another strong boost to the team’s preparations for the continental championship.

The results continue a positive run of friendly matches for the Starlets, who have recently tested themselves against several local clubs and academies as they fine-tune tactics, build chemistry and sharpen match fitness ahead of the upcoming AFCON tournament.
