The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially released the match schedule for the upcoming Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, with the Black Starlets set for a challenging Group D campaign in Morocco.
Ghana has been drawn alongside Algeria, Senegal, and South Africa in what promises to be a fiercely competitive group.
The Black Starlets will open their campaign against Algeria on May 14 at 19:00 GMT before facing Senegal in their second group match on May 17 at 16:00 GMT. They will then conclude their group stage fixtures against South Africa on May 20 at 19:00 GMT.
The tournament is scheduled to run from May 13 to June 2 in Morocco, bringing together the continent’s finest young talents in a high-stakes competition that also serves as qualification for the global stage.
In a significant boost to participating teams, the eight quarter-finalists will automatically secure qualification for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, while the two best third-placed teams will also advance, ensuring Africa is represented by ten nations at the global tournament.
With qualification to the World Cup firmly in sight, the Black Starlets will be aiming to navigate the group stage successfully and reaffirm Ghana’s rich pedigree in youth football on the continental stage.
