The Black Starlets returned to training on Sunday afternoon with a recovery session in Mohammedia following their final preparatory match against Mali ahead of the 2026 U17 Africa Cup of Nations.

The session mainly on recovery, regeneration, and light tactical exercises as the technical team carefully managed the players’ workload ahead of the tournament. Players who featured heavily in the friendly engaged in light jogging, stretching, and recovery drills, while the rest of the squad participated in short intensity exercises and possession routines.

Despite the result in the friendly game, the atmosphere at training remained positive, with the players showing determination and focus as preparations enter the final phase. The technical team, led by Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, continued to fine-tune tactical details while encouraging the squad ahead of the competition.

The recovery session also offered an opportunity for the coaches to assess the physical condition of the players before the team’s departure to Rabat, where the tournament will be staged.

The Black Starlets impressed in spells during the friendly against Mali, creating several scoring opportunities despite suffering a narrow defeat through an unfortunate own goal. The technical handlers remain confident the preparatory matches have provided the team with the right level of competition heading into the AFCON.
