The Black Starlets returned to the training grounds on Monday for a recovery session following their 1–0 victory over Division Two side Zilina FC in a friendly match on Sunday.

The recovery training, held at the University of Ghana Stadium Annex, was aimed at helping the players regain energy and maintain fitness levels after the intense encounter. The session was characterized by light drills, stretching, and regeneration exercises under the supervision of the technical team led by Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum.

Sunday’s game against Zilina marked another important test for the Starlets as they continue preparations for the WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship to be staged in Ivory Coast in September. The narrow win added to the team’s growing confidence, with the technical handlers focusing on tactical discipline and match sharpness.

The recovery program forms part of a carefully structured training plan designed to keep the players fresh and ready for the demanding fixtures ahead. Officials of the Ghana Football Association, who have shown consistent support for the team, are optimistic about the squad’s progress.

The Starlets will continue training in the coming days as they fine-tune strategies ahead of their departure to Ivory Coast, where they will compete against some of West Africa’s strongest youth sides for a place at the 2025 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
