The Black Queens boosted their pre-WAFCON friendly with an impressive 3-1 win over the Scorchers of Malawi at the Ziaida Complex in Benslimane on Saturday.
The Queens got off to a great start but a slight error in the 15th minute put the Malawians in front through a Sani Tendai free kick.
Doris Boaduwaa equalized through a spot kick on the 23rd minute after Alice Kusi was brought down in the box.
The attacker added her second of the day in the 31st minute with a solo long-range effort after latching on to a loose ball at the edge of the box.
Princella Adubea’s run on the left wing set up Doris again in a nervy finish with a header seven minutes from full time to seal the 3-1 victory.
Coach Kim made some slight changes to the starting XI that played in Ivory Coast last month, with four alterations. Ampem Darkoa’s Nancy Amoh got her first start, and Princella Adubea returned to her favorite right-wing role once more.
The Black Queens will face Benin, who replaces Botswana, in the second pre-WAFCON friendly on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
