The Black Queens delivered a commanding 4-0 victory over Egypt in the 2nd leg of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium, booking their ticket to the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The Queens dominated the match with a potent attack spearheaded by Princess Marfo and Doris Boaduwaa. Evelyn Badu, Grace Asantewaa, and Jennifer Cudjoe controlled the midfield, while Cynthia Findiib Konlan stood firm in goal.
After a barren first half, Doris Boaduwaa opened the scoring for Ghana in the 52nd minute. Grace Asantewaa and Princess Marfo combined beautifully to set up Doris Boaduwaa for her second goal just three minutes later, inside 55 minutes. Comfort Yeboah added Ghana's third goal in the 57th minute, before Doris Boaduwaa completed her hat-trick in the 92nd minute, sealing a convincing 4-0 win over Egypt.
Ghana's impressive performance saw them build on their 3-0 first-leg win in Ismailia, securing a convincing 7-0 aggregate victory. The win marks a significant milestone for the Black Queens, cementing their place in the prestigious continental tournament.
The Black Queens are poised to make a comeback on the continental stage, building on their bronze medal win at the 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). They secured third place by defeating South Africa 4-3 in a thrilling penalty shootout.
