The Black Metoers have advanced to the next round of the African U23 Championship qualifiers despite losing 1-0 to Togo on Saturday.

Kossi Anika scored for the Togolese side in Saturday's 2nd leg tie but the Ghanaian side still goes through with their 5-1 win in the  first leg played in Kumasi on Tuesday.

Ghana will face Gabon in March next year for a place in the final stage of the qualifiers in June.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko’s side could face either Equatorial Guinea or Algeria in the final round of the qualifiers.

Ghana is looking to make it to the next Olympic Games after missing out of the competition since 2004.

The next Summer Olympics games will be staged in Tokyo, Japan.
