Black Meteors hold recovery session after Young Pharaohs clash

The Black Meteors were on the training pitch on Tuesday evening to begin preparations for their final group match against Mali.

After drawing against Cameroon and losing 2-3 the subsequent group match to tournament hosts Egypt, Ghana needs a win over the Malians and hope that the other Group A game ends in a win for the Egyptians.

After a team meeting in the morning, Coach Ibrahim Tanko had his boys back out training at the El Sekka El Haddid Stadium in the evening.

All 21 players took part in the session with the players who played in Mondays game against Egypt going through a recovery session.

The National U23 team will train again on Wednesday evening before Thursday match which will be played at the Al Salam Stadium in Cairo at 8:00pm local time (6:00pm GMT)

Following Friday’s training session, the coaching staff will announce the squad list for the Athletic duel, and Valverde will appear at his usual pre-game press conference.

Ahead of the final round of match n Thursday, Coach Ibrahim Tanko says his side will go all out for a win over the Malians and hope for a positive result in the other match.

“Its unfortunate we lost on Monday. Egypt are already through to the next round with one more game to go.”

“We will do our best to beat Mali and see what happens between Egypt and Cameroon”, the National U23 head coach intimated.

The best two teams in each group will advance to the semi finals with the winner of the tournament and the two runner ups getting automatic qualifications to the Olympic Games.
