The Black Maidens will open their WAFU Zone B U-17 Girls Championship campaign with a clash against rivals Nigeria after being drawn in Group B alongside Togo and Niger.
The tournament, which also serves as the qualifier for the 2027 U-17 Girls Africa Cup of Nations, will determine the teams that represent the zone at next year's continental championship. Hosts Côte d'Ivoire will stage the competition, which kicks off on September 15, 2026.
The Black Maidens face a challenging group, with Nigeria expected to provide a particularly strong test given their pedigree in women's youth football. Togo and Niger will also be looking to upset the established order and advance to the next stage.
Ghana will enter the tournament with high expectations as they seek to secure qualification for the 2027 continental showpiece.
