Ghana’s Under-17 female football team, the Black Maidens, have arrived in Brazil (Sao Paolo) for the final phase of their preparation towards the FIFA Women’s World Cup (WWC) slated for Uruguay this month.
The Ghanaian contingent made up of thetechnical team and 21 players left Accra on Wednesday and made a transit in Morocco before arriving at Sao Paolo later on Wednesday evening.
The team will train for the next nine days before moving on to the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo for the tournament.
Coach Augustine Evans Adotey’s side are expected to play two friendly games before leaving Brazil to continue preparations for their opening Group A game against hosts, Uruguay on November 13 at the Estadio Charrúa in Montevideo.
Ghana is in Group A alongside hosts Uruguay, New Zealand and debutants Finland in Group A of the tournament scheduled for November 13 to December 1.
