The Black Stars held their first training session in Seoul on Sunday as they prepare to take on South Korea in a friendly match on Tuesday. Coach Otto Addo is facing an uphill task, however, as he deals with the aftermath of injuries to key players.
Antoine Semenyo and Mohammed Salisu have returned to their clubs after suffering injuries, joining Francis Abu who was already out with a fracture. Semenyo, who started the international friendly against Japan, was replaced by Prince Kwabena Adu in the 55th minute due to an aggravated left anterior talo-fibula ligament sprain. Salisu, who was on the bench against Japan, has a bilateral medial collateral ligament sprain.
With these setbacks, Addo has 19 players to select his team from. The Black Stars will train at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on Monday to fine-tune their preparations for the match against South Korea on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
