Ghana’s U-15 girls team made a powerful statement in the opening match of the CAF African Schools Championship, cruising to a commanding 6:0 victory over Guinea.

The young defending champions wasted no time asserting their dominance, scoring twice within the opening eight minutes to set the tone for what became a one-sided contest.

Belinda Kpentey capitalised on early pressure on the 6th minute to slot home the opener.

Just two minutes later, the lead was doubled as Jennifer Awuku finished confidently in the 8th minute.

Ghana continued to dictate the tempo, and the relentless pressure paid off again in the 19th minute when Mavis Koah found the net to make it 3.

Ghana struck again in the 22nd minute through Margaret Tawiah, extending the lead to four goals before she scored again on the 30th minute, grabbing her brace.

Janet Eyram completed the rout in the 35th minute, sealing an emphatic six-goal victory for the reigning champions.

The team will now shift focus to the next group fixture against Tanzania later in the day at 12:45GMT.
