The Ghana eFootball National Team, popularly known as the Black Asteroids, have written another exciting chapter in their journey by advancing from the group stages to the quarterfinals of the ongoing FIFAe Regional Online Qualifiers 2025.

Drawn in Group A of the Africa (Console) category alongside Morocco, Libya, Somalia, Mauritius, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe, the Black Asteroids showcased tactical brilliance, teamwork, and determination to secure their place in the knockout stage.

From the opening match, Ghana set the tone with a commanding victory over Somalia, followed by hard-fought wins against Zimbabwe and South Sudan. Their resilience was tested against Mauritius and Tanzania, but the team’s composure under pressure ensured they continued collecting vital points. The highly anticipated clash with Morocco proved to be one of the most thrilling encounters of the group phase, with Ghana fighting back strongly to earn qualification momentum.

At the close of the group stage, Ghana finished among the top two in their group, guaranteeing their passage to the quarterfinals. Their consistent performances marked by clinical attacking play and disciplined defense have cemented their reputation as one of the rising forces in African eFootball.

Speaking after the group campaign, the team expressed their gratitude to the Ghana Football Association and fans for their unwavering support. “This qualification means a lot to us as players and as a team. We know how much potential eFootball has in Ghana, and we are proud to fly the flag high on the international stage,” a team representative said.

The Black Asteroids will now turn their focus to the quarterfinals, where they will face another tough African opponent in Madagascar for a spot in the semi-finals and a step closer to the FIFAe World Cup Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, later this year.

With momentum on their side, Ghana’s Black Asteroids are proving that they have both the talent and determination to compete with the very best on the continent.
