Bechem United fight back to beat Medeama

Bechem United had to comeback from a goal down to beat Medeama SC by 2-1 in the match week 8 fixture of the First Capital Plus Premier League played at the Fosu Gyeabour Park in Bechem.

Medeama nearly scored in the 2nd minute when Kwame Boahen unleashed a thunderbolt which beat Ernest Adu in post for Bechem Utd but was denied by the crossbar.

The away team continued to press for the opener which came from the spot on the 22nd min.

Nathaniel Asamoah beat Addico on a one-on-one situation but was tripped before he could cause any harm.

Ref Alex Nsiah awarded a penalty which was slotted home by Asamoah.

Bechem Utd came back a rejuvenated side in the 2nd half after the introduction of Hamza Mohammed.

Ernest Baffour got the equalizer for the Pride of Ahafo exactly on the hour mark after taking a pass from outside the Medeama box and unleashed a low shot which beat Yaw Ansah who had replaced Foli Adade in post for Medeama.

Bechem Utd finally put smiles back on the faces of their teeming supporters on the 80th min when Noah Martey scored from the spot after Tetteh Zutah was adjudged to have handled the ball in the penalty box.

Elsewhere, Kennedy Ashia converted a 90th minute penalty to give Liberty Professionals all the three points in their game against Berekum Chelsea at the Carl Reindoff Park in Dansoman.

At the Kpando Stadium, Hearts of Oak suffered yet another defeat in their match against Heart of Lions.

Osman Muntaka scored in the 48th minute to take Lions to third on the League table.
