Ghana midfielder Ahmed Barruso is hoping he can become an integral part of the Galatasaray set up during his six month loan spell at the club.

Barruso, a member of Ghana’s Nations Cup side that reached the semifinal, has joined up with his new team mates in Turkey after signing on loan from AS Roma till the end of the season.

He told his first news conference as a Galatasaray player that he will put his lot into training and hope he gets picked as the Turkish giants chase dual success in both the Turkish league and the Uefa Cup.

“I have been told that the team has a structure which provides the young players with a chance to prove themselves. I will do my best to be useful for the team.

"I think I will find the opportunity to assert myself and that’s why I am here.”

The Black Stars player left Roma because he struggled to break into Luciano Spaletti’s side but he is aware he won’t be guaranteed a shirt at Galatasaray either.

But Barruso said the decision to join Galatasaray had been made easy after he spoke to some of the big name African players in the Turkish league, such as Ghana captain Stephen Appiah, Cameroon captain Rigobert Song and Shabani Nomda the Congo DR international.
