Ghana international Andre Ayew is hoping for a quick turn around by club Olympique Marseille after the champions lost their second consecutive game in the French Ligue 1.

Marseille's poor start to the season continued on Saturday continued as they slumped to a 3-2 defeat against Valenciennes to drop to the bottom of the standings.

“I really don’t know what happened in that second half,” Ayew told reporters.

“What I do know is we made mistakes we must not do again. We must bounce back and must do it straight away. We have no time to lose.”

The champions, who started the defence of their title with a 2-1 home defeat by promoted Caen, conceded three goals in 15 minutes in the second half.

Marseille reduced the arrears with Taye Taiwo converting an 81st minute penalty after Ayew had been brought down by Penneteau. Ayew then cut the deficit further three minutes later with a fierce drive through a packed penalty area.

Andre's junior brother Jordan came on as a second half substitute for Marseille.
