Ashanti Regional Football Association Holds Successful Ordinary Congress

The Ashanti Regional Football Association (ARFA) has successfully held its Ordinary Congress at the Kumasi Anglican Senior High School Assembly Hall on Saturday, 27th September 2025 to draw the curtain on the 2024/25 season and usher in the 2025/26 season.

The gathering brought together key stakeholders of football in the region to deliberate on the development and progress of the game.

The event, chaired by ARFA Chairman, Osei Tutu Agyemang, provided a platform to review the 2024/25 football season and outline plans for the 2025/26 season. Delegates representing various clubs, district football associations, and other stakeholders participated actively in the discussions, demonstrating their commitment to the growth of football in the Ashanti Region.

Mr. Samuel Aboabire, an Executive Council Member of the Ghana Football Association, represented the GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku and the Executive Council at the Congress. He commended the Ashanti Regional FA for its dedication to grassroots football and pledged the GFA’s continuous support for the region’s development programmes.

In his address, Mr. Osei Tutu Agyemang lauded the efforts of all stakeholders and emphasized the importance of collaboration, accountability, and innovation in driving football in the region to greater heights. He highlighted new initiatives aimed at enhancing youth development, coaching education, and referee training.

The Congress also served as an opportunity to reaffirm the Ashanti Regional FA’s commitment to aligning with the Ghana Football Association’s broader vision of transforming domestic football through improved governance, stronger competitions, and enhanced stakeholder engagement.
