The Ashanti Regional Football Association (RFA) has officially launched the 2025 Ashanti Regional Division Two Promotional Tournament in a colorful ceremony held today, April 30, 2025, at the RFA Conference Hall, Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The event brought together football stakeholders, club representatives, and legends of the game, with former national team and Asante Kotoko icons Francis Akwaffo and Gabriel Opoku Ware gracing the occasion as special guests.
Their presence added a touch of inspiration to the event, reflecting the RFA’s commitment to blending tradition with the future of Ghanaian football.
In attendance were executives of the RFA, coaches, and representatives from the eight participating clubs: Mid City FC, Sasaamo Panin FC, Adom FC, Acceler8z FC, Benab FC, Jonhboe FC, Ebony FC, and Pro Sports FC.
As part of the launch, Ashlid Enterprise, one of the RFA’s key supporters, donated footballs to all participating teams — a gesture aimed at encouraging competitive and fair play throughout the tournament.
The RFA also used the platform to outline the structure and key highlights of the competition, which officially kicks off on Friday.
In addition to the championship title, several individual awards will be up for grabs, including Goal King, Best Player, Best Goalkeeper and Fair Play Team, ensuring added motivation and recognition for outstanding performances.
The tournament promises to be a showcase of emerging talent in the region as clubs battle for promotion and the opportunity to progress within Ghana’s football pyramid.
