Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah does not expect to move away from Udinese before the transfer window closes.

Asamoah says he is delighted to remain with the Italian side for at least another year though he's been linked with a number of Premier League clubs.

Despite an impressive debut World Cup with Ghana followed by speculation over his future, Asamoah is only gearing up for the new Serie A season.

"I expected some news on my return but I'm still here, as I thought," the 21-year-old told the Italian press.

"(Gaetano) D'Agostino and (Simone) Pepe have gone, but I have seen that there are other good players.

"We have a good team, also thanks to the returns of (Antonio) Candreva and (Giampiero) Pinzi.

"After the World Cup I rested for two or three weeks at home.

"The future? I'll stay here a year. Here I'm peaceful and happy, and I can improve."
