Proud of his side's performance against Germany, Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has warned his side they must not be distracted by Cristiano Ronaldo's talents as they meet Portugal.

With a first point earned following their 2-2 draw with Germany in the World Cup Group G clash, the Black Stars now await the final fixture against Portugal in Brasilia on Thursday.

Appiah wants his side retain full focus and not the obsession of trying to stop the World's best player, Ronaldo as Ghana must win their last game against Portugal to stand a chance of progressing to the second round.

“He’s the best player in the whole world," Appiah said as he now prepares his side to face a Ronaldo-led Portugal.

"Everyone recognises that. But it’s about teamwork, I don’t believe in the individual. It’s important that we don’t allow him to play his game. We will study their game, but it’s not only him, it’s the whole team.”

Appiah is happy with his team's confidence and is counting on them to continue working hard as a team and see where it takes them.

“Their confidence levels in this tournament are good to me,” he said.

"It won’t be easy to reach the Round of 16 because we’ve only got one point. There are still a few games left to play in our group and although it’ll be tough, it is possible.

"You can only stop Cristiano Ronaldo, the best player in the world, by working as a team. We can’t let him show what he can do."

Ghana have reached the second round in their last two appearances.
